THE PLIGHT OF THE EMERGING MIDDLE CLASS There is a country I know called Umuofia 🤪 The emerging middle class break their backs to work hard everyday. When the month ends, their beloved Government will take up to a third of their salaries as income tax ,but that is not the problem, because tax dieer it is good 🙂 What happens next is the problem: 1. Housing is unreasonably high in Umuofia, and the deficit is ridiculous, so to have any semblance of a decent but affordable accommodation, madam emerging middle class will have to move to the outskirts of town, very far away from her place of work. 2. After the government has taken its “fair share “ of her income as tax, the emerging middle class will still have to contend with very bad roads leading to their homes, hence are forced to buy a four wheel drive instead of a salon car. 3.
