TEN facts you may not know about June 4th revolution 


First let's see what is widely known. There is a lot of history to get through so let's get into it. Buckle up this is a bit of heavy history. The June 4th revolution took place in 1979 and involved first: the rank and file of the Ghana Armed Forces students and other servicemen and eventually regular  Ghanaians including lawyers and several intellectuals. They resulted in the removal of the last true military dictatorship in Ghana the Supreme Military Council - or SMC II of General Fred Akuffo and it lasted for three months(House cleaning) resulting in in the execution of the leadership of the SMC II - head of states of the SMCI and the national Redemption Council, NRC Gen. 
Ignatius Kutu Acheampong and one of the heads of states of the national liberation council NLC. Allegedly the top CIA operative in West Africa responsible for the ousting of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's convention People's Party CPP, Gen. Akwasi Amankwah Afrifa

 Hoaders who had held the country to run some by inflating the price of goods tenfold were now monitored by the military and sales of goods at control prices were enforced, stabilizing the market and bringing an end to the era of KALA BULE. Corrupt  politicians and business people who profits a truly corrupt dealings with NRC SMC and SMC II were jailed. Their properties and ill-gotten wealth turned over to the armed force Revolutionary Council, AFRC (June 4th 1979- Sep. 24 1979) but steer the country during the revolution. It was a frantic three months, potentially  from various groups with specific grievances. Several lives were lost. 

The mantra, let the blood flow gave a distinctly vowel intent to the affairs of the country 8 military executions were handed down after tribunal led by young lawyers some judges and military personnel that supported the revolution and what is stood for. The country returned to multiparty democracy as had been scheduled prior to the revolution in September 1979 and at Dr. Hilla liman's people's National Party, PNP. The unofficial successor to Nkrumah's CPP which was still illegal despite the ban on political parties having been lifted by the SMC II.

After the government has taken its “fair share “ of her income as tax, the emerging middle class will still have to contend with very bad roads leading to their homes, hence are forced to buy a four wheel drive instead of a salon car. 3.
